We have been busy working on the restoration of the Little White House. As you can imagine a wooden house in a hot and humid climate needs lots of TLC and especially one that hosts thousands of visitors each week. Scalamandre recently recreated new wallpaper matching the design exactly as it was in 1949.
The American toile pattern is made up of Colonial churches, covered bridges and country inns and hangs in the foyer and is the first thing our guests see when they enter the house. A photograph from a guest allowed Scalamandre to redraw the design. This required a copyright search and the paint analysis and fabrics determined the original colors. The design is called The Little White House and is now available through Scalamandre decorators.
