The Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation is honored to have acclaimed author, scholar, and historian Dr. Robert P. Watson visit the Truman Little White House.  On Saturday, November 25th at 6pm inside the Gallery Room at the Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation, Key West, Dr. Watson is giving a presentation titled: Truman: Common Man, Uncommon Leader; an Intimate Look at His Character and Presidency.  This event is a closed-door event, limited to 25 members of the Key West Harry S. Dr. Watson is an award-winning author who has published over 40 books and 200 scholarly articles and essays on topics in pollical, military, and social history, as well as two multi-volume encyclopedia sets on the presidents and first ladies.  Dr. Watson’s recent books include Affairs of State (2012), America’s First Crisis (2014), The Nazi Titanic (2016), When Washington Burned (2023) and American’s First Plague (2023).  Dr. Watson is a frequent media commentator and has been interviewed on news outlets around the world, including CNN, MSNBC, USA Today, The New York Times, NPR, and the BBC, just to name a few.  He has co-convened a half-dozen national conferences, co-founded the annual Truman Legacy Symposium for the Truman Presidential Library, and served on the boards of numerous academic associations, community organizations, and the Calvin Coolidge Foundation and George McGovern Center for Leadership.  Dr. Watson has been a visiting scholar or lecturer with many leading historic sites, including the Truman Presidential Library, Gerald Ford Presidential Museum, Illinois Holocaust Museum, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, National Archives, Smithsonian Institution, to name a few.  The Truman Little White House and Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation are honored to have Dr. Watson visit and share vital information on Truman’s character as a leader and as a common man.       

The Key West Harry S.
